Before your waxing appointment, make sure that your arm hair is at least a quarter inch long. If it’s shorter, the wax may not be able to grip the hair properly, resulting in incomplete hair removal. Avoid using any creams, lotions, or oils on your arms, as they can interfere with the wax’s grip. It’s also a good idea to exfoliate your arms a day or two before your appointment to remove any dead skin cells that can clog the pores and lead to ingrown hairs.
When you arrive at the salon, the waxing technician will ask you to lie down on a comfortable table or chair. They will then apply warm wax to your arms in sections, using a spatula or roller. Once the wax has cooled and hardened, they will quickly pull it off, taking the hair with it. The process may be a little uncomfortable, especially if you’re new to waxing, but the pain usually subsides within a few seconds.
